The Big Question
For many years there was one question I used to really dread being asked. At dinner parties, networking events and in my own career discussions I used to sweat and stutter when someone asked me the question: What are you truly passionate about, Fiona?
Most of my adult life, I struggled to answer that question. I loved fashion and shopping (and still do, that passion hasn’t changed!). I loved nights out with my girlfriends (again, I still do). I loved travel. But what was I PASSIONATE about? What truly lit me up? I drew a blank every time. Could it be I was just coasting and genuinely wasn’t passionate about ANYTHING?
And then, through my own journey of self-discovery and personal development, I gradually worked it out. My passion is people. It always has been. It always will be. I absolutely love people – understanding what motivates them, why they do what they do, in the way they do it. What makes people behave the way they do.
That’s why I have built my career and business around people. From law to recruitment and now as a Career Success Mentor, I have only ever really cared about the people that I encountered, and how I could make a difference, even in some small way, in their lives.
My Big Dream
My dream is to inject some colour into the relentless black, grey and white of corporate and business life. The colour that comes from being fully engaged in what you do, and why you are doing it. The colour that comes from understanding that you can and do make a difference by being engaged, fulfilled and successful in your career – not just a difference in your own life, but also in the lives of others.
If you are looking to bring some colour back into your own corporate life or into your organisation, we should talk.
Contact me and we’ll organise a coffee, virtual, or in person, and have a chat about if and how I can help.
